This course focuses on discussions and verbal exchanges. Listening comprehension and oral expression are encouraged. If you want to brush up your ‘rusty’ English, this is the right course for you. Participation in the previous ‘Touring Britain’ courses is not a prerequisite. It is therefore easy to get started.  Current topics will feature prominently in the lively discussions. We will visit places of national interest north of London and will discuss related political, historical and literary topics. As part of ‘Touring Britain’ you will enjoy presentations on tourist destinations such as Grasmere (home of William Wordsworth in the Lake District), Haworth (home of the Bronté sisters in the Yorkshire Dales) and Hadrian’s Wall (England’s Roman border). And hopefully you will feel inspired to travel to England and explore these places for yourself.
