In this workshop, you will be introduced to lino cut technique, with the aim of producing an A6 plate to make relief prints from.

We will begin with a quick history of lino print, discussing some great examples from such renowned artists as Picasso and Escher. We will learn about the different tools, techniques and safety procedures involved. It is helpful to have an idea of an image you would like to recreate, but it is not essential. We can discuss this together. I will explain how to use composition and contrast to help you create an effective print. The final prints can be used as a stand-alone art piece, or as a base for postcards/greeting cards. The course is for beginners in addition to more advanced students. By the end of the class, you will have your own one-colour print (or prints, depending on time) and a lino cut which can be used again and again.

Tools, printing ink will be provided in the course.

If you have exsisting tools and Material, please bring it along. A6 plates, paper and cardboard can be purchased from the teacher (approx. €10 per person).
